CORVALLIS, Ore. – Trent Caraway went 2-for-4 with three runs driven in to send sixth-ranked Oregon State to its 10th-consecutive victory with a 7-3 win over Rutgers Tuesday night at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

The win capped Oregon State’s nine-game homestand that saw the Beavers (16-3) go 9-0, out-scoring their opponents, 61-17.

On Tuesday, Oregon State collected six hits and eight walks en route to the win. Caraway drove in a run on a single during OSU’s four-run third, then two more on a sharply lined double in the fourth.

Rutgers (9-12) was held hitless until the eighth and put three runs across the plate in the frame. But Easton Talt, batting in the leadoff spot, iced the game with a run-scoring double in the bottom half of the inning.

Oregon State used six pitchers in the win, with the first reliever, Laif Palmer, picking up the win after two scoreless innings. Kellan Oakes started and allowed just two Scarlet Knights to reach base in three innings of work.

The Beavers jumped on the board first when Aiva Arquette drilled a double to right center in the third, scoring two. Caraway made it 3-0 with a single up the middle, then watched as Wilson Weber walked with the bases loaded for the fourth and final run of the inning.

The win was Oregon State’s 15th straight at home, tying with Arkansas for the second-longest streak nationally. Only Western Kentucky’s 18-game streak is longer.
