KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oregon Tech catcher Tyler Horner was named a first-team NAIA All-American, as the American Baseball Coaches Association, the NAIA Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings announced the annual postseason awards.

Horner becomes the third first-team All-American in program history and the first in 42 years – as Dave Hummel (1974) and Mark Kane (1982) earned the distinction. Ryson Mauricio was the Owls last All-American, earning second-team honors in 2009.

The junior, from Twin Falls, Idaho, earned Cascade Conference Player of the Year honors after narrowly missing out on the league’s triple crown – leading the circuit with 16 home runs and 61 RBI, ranking second with a .398 batting average. Horner set the OIT single-season record for total bases (155), tied the single-season school record for home runs and doubles (21), with his RBI total ranking second all-time.

Horner was the only Cascade Conference player honored and one of only six players from West Coast clubs among the 54 players named to the three All-America lists.
