CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech claimed both Cascade Conference weekly baseball awards, as Bronson Chapple was named Pitcher of the Week and Patrick Barry was named Player of the Week.
Chapple, a senior from Herriman, Utah, had a dominant start vs. Bushnell – helping the Owls to a series win. The righty tossed 6 1/3 shutout innings, holding the Beacons offense to two singles, striking out six, earning his third win of the year.
Barry, a senior from Reno, Nev., had a monster week at the plate, going a combined 12-for-15 with 12 runs scored. The shortstop, who had a .867 on-base percentage, added four doubles, a triple and three RBI.
Tech heads to Vancouver, B.C., meeting LC State on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the first-round game.
