CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech senior Kacie Schmidt was named Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time in 2025, announced today by the league office.
Schmidt led the No. 2-ranked Lady Owls to a weekend sweep of Bushnell, tossing 14.2 innings, allowing just four hits, one run and striking out 18.
The two-time All-American threw a complete game 2-hitter in the series opener, leading Tech to a 5-1 win, striking out a season-high 11. In Game 3, she recorded a 2-hit shutout with seven strikeouts, surpassing the 500-strikeout mark for her OIT career.
The Lady Owls head out on a 10-game road trip over the next eight days, beginning Tuesday at Pacific University.
