Postponements from the recent winter storm in the Basin created a jam-packed high school basketball schedule this weekend, with several teams playing back-to-back games. Here’s everything you may have missed.
Friday
Tulelake 52, Surprise Valley 32 (Girls)
Tulelake (14-11, 9-2) finished the regular season and took second place in the Evergreen League with a win at Surprise Valley (8-12, 7-5).
Senior Makenzie Perez led the Honkers with 12 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals; junior Josefina Mojica had 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals; senior Lizbeydi Garcia had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks; junior Alejandra Perez had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists; sophomore Quetzali Chavez had 7 points; senior Maritza Chavolla had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals; and junior Na’Tali Idrogo had 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
Tulelake shot 19-of-56 (34%) from the field, including 2-of-17 (12%) from 3-point range, and made 12-of-22 free throws (55%).
The Honkers received the No. 8 seed in the CIF Northern Section Division VI playoffs and will host No. 9 seed Etna (7-19) at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Hornets received the No. 5 seed in the CIF Northern Section Division VII playoffs and will travel to No. 4 seed Princeton (10-10) at 7 p.m. Friday.
North Lake/Paisley Charter 43, Crosspoint Christian 31 (Girls)
Crosspoint Christian finished Mountain Valley League play with a 3-5 record as host North Lake/Paisley Charter snapped the Warriors’ four-game winning streak.
The Cowgirls led 9-7 after the first quarter, and the teams were tied 16-16 at halftime. North Lake/Paisley Charter led 28-20 after the third quarter.
Junior Hannah Langford and freshman Olivia Fenner shared the team lead for Crosspoint Christian with 7 points each, followed by sophomore Norah Radford with 5, sophomore Chloe Butler with 4, junior Charlotte Spalding with 3, junior Keira Mahan and freshman Sayuri Serrano-Lopez with 2 each, and junior Kim Pannell with 1.
For the Cowgirls, sophomore Acacia Roth had 18 points (9 in the fourth quarter), sophomore Dillynn Puckett had 9, sophomore Emma Baker had 5, freshman Taylor Uran had 4, junior Lindsay McAulay had 3, and senior Grace Brummer and sophomore Sophie House had 2 each.
Bonanza 41, Oakridge 14 (Girls)
Bonanza allowed its fewest points of the season and completed a season sweep of Oakridge.
Sophomore Ayla DeLonge led the visiting Antlers with 10 points (6 in the second quarter), senior Mary Schooler had 9 (including two threes), senior Haley Wierleske had 6, sophomore Hadley Woods had 5, junior Maggie Ackley had 3, and seniors Grace Kness and Vashti Arata, junior Briza Garcia and sophomore Abby Hill all had 2.
Trinity Lutheran 55, Lost River 33 (Girls)
Lost River allowed its most points of the season as visiting Trinity Lutheran avenged a 56-47 loss to the Raiders on Jan. 28.
Freshman Isabelle Herring led Lost River with 9 points; senior Mckenzie Dalton had 8 points and 10 rebounds; senior Gemma Arceo-Bigoni had 6 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks; senior Avery Turner had 5 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists; sophomore Amaris Hernandez had 3 points; senior Zuliana Cobian had 1 point, 4 rebounds and 3 steals; senior Mari Lou Estrada had 1 point; and junior Macey Thomson had 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
The Raiders shot 10-of-31 (32%) from the field, including 1-of-8 from 3-point range, and made 10-of-33 free throws (30%).
Klamath Union 44, Mazama 26 (Girls)
Klamath Union (10-12, 5-5) kept hold of third place in the Skyline Conference and completed a season sweep of Mazama (1-19, 0-9).
The visiting Pelicans led 13-10 after the first quarter, 21-14 at halftime and 36-23 after the third quarter.
Senior Andi Harmon led Klamath Union with 20 points (on 10-of-12 shooting), 7 rebounds and 2 blocks; sophomore Lisette Watah had 9 points and 9 rebounds; senior Jazmin Wilson had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals; senior Farrah Zumwalt had 3 points and 3 steals; junior Anyssa Jimenez had 2 points, 2 assists and 2 steals; and junior Ariah Miller and sophomore Gracia VanderWaal both had 2 points.
For Mazama, senior London O’Brien and sophomore Leah Hernandez both had 8 points; senior Mada Lee had 5 points and 3 steals; senior Addie Byington had 5 points, senior Caelyn Davis had 5 rebounds and 2 steals; and freshman Reagan Holbrook had 4 rebounds.
Both teams play at 6 p.m. Tuesday; Klamath Union travels to Hidden Valley (7-13, 3-5) with a chance to clinch a postseason berth, while Mazama hosts No. 3 Henley (18-2, 8-0).
Tulelake 55, Surprise Valley 32 (Boys)
Tulelake (9-14, 8-2) finished its season on a four-game winning streak and took second place in the Evergreen League.
The visiting Honkers trailed 9-8 after the first quarter but took an 18-15 lead into halftime. They led 41-23 after the third quarter.
Tulelake graduates three seniors from this year’s team: Anthony Loza, Danny Garcia and Erik Salazar.
1A No. 8 Crosspoint Christian 71, North Lake/Paisley Charter 45 (Boys)
Crosspoint Christian earned the top seed in the Mountain Valley League playoffs, finishing the conference slate with an 11-1 record.
The visiting Warriors led 18-14 after the first quarter, 34-23 at halftime and 55-39 after the third quarter.
Junior Brock Throne led Crosspoint Christian with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists (his second straight double-double); sophomore Caden Moritz had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals; junior Davis Hartwell (an Oregon State golf commit) had 12 points (including two threes), 2 rebounds and 2 assists; senior Kody Sparks had 11 points (including two threes), 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals; senior Chase Knecht had 6 points (on two threes); sophomore Trey Johnston had 5 points and 4 rebounds; junior Collin Kleinjan had 3 points and 7 rebounds; and senior Paul Casson had 1 point and 2 rebounds.
The Warriors shot 28-of-67 (42%) from the field, including 6-of-22 (27%) from 3-point range, and made 9-of-22 free throws (41%).
2A No. 8 Bonanza 79, Oakridge 46 (Boys)
Visiting Bonanza led 16-9 after the first quarter, 39-22 at halftime and 59-34 after the third quarter as the Antlers completed a season sweep of Oakridge.
Senior Victor Gonzalez led Bonanza with 19 points, senior Tristan McGann had 18 (10 in the third quarter), junior Garrett Gallagher and sophomore Dominick Lamboy both had 15, sophomore Colby Medeiros had 4, sophomore Isaac Noble and freshman Anthony Hess both had 3, and senior Alex Renzetti had 2.
Trinity Lutheran 62, Lost River 45 (Boys)
Visiting Trinity Lutheran led 18-8 after the first quarter, 33-21 at halftime and 49-32 after the third quarter en route to completing a regular season sweep of Lost River.
Senior Tate Freeman had 9 points and 10 rebounds; senior Noah O’Neill had 9 points and 6 rebounds; senior Beau Sanders had 7 points and 6 rebounds; senior Doug Jenkins had 6 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals; junior Charles Overcash had 4 points and 4 rebounds; junior Kellen Dunlea had 4 points; senior Kayden Hartman had 3 points and 6 rebounds; senior Rex Bodle had 3 points; and junior Connor Guthrie had 2 steals.
For the Saints, senior Andrew Imhoff had 21 points, junior Chace Nichols had 19, senior Bubbas Gilbert had 7, sophomore Austin Imhoff had 5, senior Jackson Carroll and sophomore Quentin Romney both had 3, and senior James Newton and sophomore Chimi Gilbert both had 2.
Mazama 54, Klamath Union 46 (Boys)
Mazama (11-10, 7-2) outscored Klamath Union (8-14, 4-6) 13-1 over the first five minutes of the third quarter to blow open a six-point game and remain tied for first place in the Skyline Conference.
The host Vikings also completed a season sweep of the Pelicans for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign.
The Vikings led 15-8 after the first quarter, 27-21 at halftime and 45-29 after the third quarter. They emptied their bench leading 54-38 with under four minutes remaining.
Senior Kai Hunt led Mazama with 16 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds; senior Ryan Hayden (a College of Idaho football commit) had 9 points and 12 rebounds; senior Gabe Nanni had 9 points and 2 steals; senior Dominic Melgoza had 6 points, 5 assists, 5 steals and 2 rebounds; senior Jordan Beals had 6 points and 2 rebounds; junior Michael Piscitello had 4 points and 4 rebounds; junior Jagger Jackson had 2 points and 3 rebounds; senior Drake Peters had 2 points and 2 rebounds; and senior Logan Harrington had 2 rebounds.
For Klamath Union, senior Roland Vannarath had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals; senior Grafton Watah had 11 points; senior Bryce Petersen had 6 points and 4 rebounds; senior Ryan Glidden had 6 points and 3 steals; senior Malcolm Lassett-Hankins had 4 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 4 steals; junior Landon Bogatay had 3 points; junior Tildon Coffman had 2 points, 2 assists and 2 steals; and sophomore Tuko Saluskin had 2 points.
The Vikings shot 21-of-54 (39%) from the field, including 3-of-14 (21%) from 3-point range, and made 9-of-15 free throws. The Pelicans shot 18-of-47 (38%) from the field, including 4-of-19 (21%) from 3-point range, and made 6-of-12 free throws. Mazama outrebounded Klamath Union 32-15 and had 18 turnovers to the Pelicans’ 15.
Both teams play at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday; Mazama hosts Henley (4-14, 0-8) with a chance to complete a sweep of both its in-town rivals for the first time since the 2014-15 season, while Klamath Union travels to Hidden Valley (12-8, 4-4) for a must-win game.
Saturday
Culver 30, Bonanza 27 (Girls)
Host Culver (6-11, 2-6 East Cascades Conference) snapped a five-game losing streak that began with a 30-23 loss at Bonanza (13-10, 6-3) on Jan. 21.
Junior Maggie Ackley led the Antlers with 8 points, seniors Grace Kness, Vashti Arata and Mary Schooler and junior Briza Garcia all had 4, and senior Haley Wierleske had 3.
Bonanza travels to Trinity Lutheran (12-9, 7-2) at 3 p.m. Monday for both teams’ regular season finale. Culver hosts Lowell (9-14, 4-5) at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the final game of the season for both teams.
Chiloquin 49, Central Christian 47 (Girls)
Visiting Chiloquin (10-7, 3-3) clinched the No. 3 seed in the Mountain Valley League tournament and completed a season sweep of Central Christian (7-12, 0-8).
The Panthers host Rogue Valley Adventist Academy (12-5, 6-1) at 2:30 p.m. Monday. The Tigers travel to Crosspoint Christian (15-9) in the first round of the Mountain Valley League tournament at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Lost River 42, Lowell 33 (Girls)
Playing without senior Mckenzie Dalton–who leads the team in scoring and rebounding–Lost River (14-6, 7-2) picked up a home win to remain tied for first place in the East Cascades Conference and complete a season sweep of Lowell (9-14, 4-5).
Senior Gemma Arceo-Bigoni led the Raiders with 16 points and 10 rebounds; freshman Isabelle Herring had 9 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals; senior Avery Turner had 5 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals; senior Julia Ayala had 4 points and 5 rebounds; sophomore Amaris Hernandez had 2 points, 3 steals and 2 rebounds; senior Zuliana Cobian had 2 points and 2 rebounds; junior Karla Navarro had 2 points; junior Macey Thomson had 4 rebounds and 2 blocks; junior Eily Hawkins had 3 rebounds; and junior Madison Holster had 2 rebounds.
Lost River shot 17-of-55 (31%) from the field, including 1-of-16 (6%) from 3-point range, and made 3-of-12 free throws.
Lost River concludes the regular season with a home game against Oakridge (1-16, 0-8) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Lowell travels to Culver (6-11, 2-6) at 1:30 p.m. Monday for both teams’ season finale.
Crosspoint Christian 29, Sherman 22 (Girls)
Crosspoint Christian (15-9) finished the regular season with a win in a game played at Trinity Lutheran.
The Warriors led 9-3 after the first quarter, 15-11 at halftime and 24-15 after the third quarter.
Junior Hannah Langford led Crosspoint Christian with 11 points, junior Keira Mahan had 7, freshman Sayuri Serrano-Lopez had 4, junior Charlotte Spalding and sophomore Norah Radford both had 3, and sophomore Chloe Butler had 1.
For Sherman (7-14), junior Addison Smith had 8 points (6 in the fourth quarter), senior Taylor Payne had 7 (including two threes), junior Allison Rolfe had 3, and senior Bailey Coelsch and sophomore T’Sharra Lanthorn both had 2.
Crosspoint Christian hosts Central Christian (7-12) in the first round of the Mountain Valley League tournament at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sherman travels to South Wasco County (16-6) in the first round of the Big Sky League tournament at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
2A No. 8 Bonanza 82, Culver 50 (Boys)
Bonanza (18-3, 8-1 East Cascades Conference) scored its most points of the season and pushed its winning streak to eight games.
The visiting Antlers led 19-12 after the first quarter, 47-27 at halftime and 70-42 after the third quarter.
Seniors Tristan McGann and Alex Renzetti shared the team lead with 19 points each, junior Garrett Gallagher had 14, sophomore Colby Medeiros had 11 (including three triples), freshman Anthony Hess had 8 (all in the first quarter, including two threes), senior Victor Gonzalez had 7 (all in the second quarter), sophomore Dominick Lamboy had 4 and freshman Kohl Jesperson had 2.
Bonanza travels to No. 6 Trinity Lutheran (15-8, 9-0) at 4:30 p.m. Monday for both teams’ regular season finale. Culver hosts Lowell (9-13, 3-6) at 3 p.m. Monday in the final game of the season for both teams.
Chiloquin 57, Central Christian 40 (Boys)
A 20-point third quarter helped Chiloquin (12-8, 6-3 Mountain Valley League) complete a season sweep of Central Christian (5-15, 2-10).
The visiting Panthers led 14-11 after the first quarter, 25-18 at halftime and 45-23 after the third quarter.
Sophomore Dilen Black led Chiloquin with 21 points, freshman Denver Bravo had 18, sophomore Lalan Wilder had 11, freshman Dade Mitchell had 5 and senior Marques Hescock had 2.
For the Tigers, junior Jase Johnson had 21 points, junior Wyatt Nickell had 10, freshman Connor Zimmerman had 6, sophomore Ben Teixeira had 2 and freshman Rawley Tritto had 1.
Chiloquin hosts Rogue Valley Adventist Academy (15-6, 9-1) at 4 p.m. Monday. Central Christian’s season is over.
Lost River 56, Lowell 44 (Boys)
Lost River (16-6, 5-4) clinched the No. 3 seed in the East Cascades Conference tournament and completed a season sweep of Lowell (9-13, 3-6).
The host Raiders led 19-7 after the first quarter, 25-21 at halftime and 44-31 after the third quarter.
Senior Tate Freeman led Lost River with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals; senior Beau Sanders had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals; junior Charles Overcash had 8 points and 5 rebounds; senior Noah O’Neill had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals; senior Doug Jenkins had 3 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals; senior Kayden Hartman had 3 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals; and junior Kellen Dunlea had 2 points.

1A No. 5 Sherman 62, No. 8 Crosspoint Christian 50 (Boys)
In a possible state tournament preview played at Trinity Lutheran, Sherman (19-4) held Crosspoint Christian (20-5) to six points in the third quarter en route to its 16th straight win.
The teams were tied 11-11 after the first quarter, and Crosspoint Christian led 30-28 at halftime. Sherman took a 40-36 lead after the third quarter.
Sophomore Caden Moritz led the Warriors with 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting) and 8 rebounds; junior Brock Throne had 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting), 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks; junior Clayton Turnage had 5 points and 6 rebounds; junior Davis Hartwell (an Oregon State golf commit) had 5 points and 2 rebounds; sophomore Trey Johnston had 3 points; and senior Kody Sparks had 2 points and 4 rebounds.
For the Huskies, senior Jamie Phelps had 22 points (10 in the third quarter), senior Isaiah Riggs had 21 (10 in the fourth quarter) and senior Gabe Fritts had 19 (8 in the fourth quarter).
