Klamath County Sherriff’s Department has warned the community about another scam. Scammers are targeting people by posing as law enforcement, government agencies, or even tech support. They may pressure you into investing in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, claiming it’s for “security reasons” or to “protect your money.” This is a scam!
Law enforcement will NEVER:
Ask you to invest in Bitcoin or any other currency Demand payment in cryptocurrency Threaten you with arrest for not transferring fundsIf someone is urging you to invest in Bitcoin or transfer money for any reason, stop and verify. Do not send money, do not provide personal information, and report the scam immediately.
