An unusually full midweek slate contained mostly non-league games but was capped off with an important Skyline Conference matchup. Here’s how everything unfolded.
Wednesday
Tulelake 52, Crosspoint Christian 45 (Girls)
Tulelake (10-10) got back to .500 with a home win over Crosspoint Christian (8-7).
The Honkers led 18-7 after the first quarter, 25-24 at halftime and 42-35 after the third quarter.
Senior Makenzie Perez led Tulelake with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks; junior Alejandra Perez had 13 points, 16 rebounds, 11 blocks and 2 assists; junior Josefina Mojica had 9 points (on three triples) and 2 rebounds; senior Maritza Chavolla had 6 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds; junior McKenna Fine had 4 points and 2 rebounds; senior Madison Fine had 2 points and 3 steals; senior Lizbeydi Garcia had 2 points and 2 rebounds; and junior Na’Tali Idrogo had 3 rebounds.
For the Warriors, junior Hannah Langford had 13 points, junior Charlotte Spalding had 12 (including three triples), sophomore Chloe Butler had 8 (all in the first half), freshman Olivia Fenner had 4, senior Jade Cummings and junior Keira Mahan both had 3, and freshman Sayuri Serrano-Lopez had 2.
The Honkers have won four of their last five games, while the Warriors have lost five of their last six. Tulelake is now 5-0 all-time against Crosspoint Christian, which opened in the fall of 2020.
Crosspoint Christian travels to C.S. Lewis Academy (9-6) at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Tulelake resumes Evergreen League play (where it sits 5-1) at home against Dunsmuir (3-9, 2-4) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
4A No. 3 Henley 53, 3A No. 9 Cascade Christian 44 (Girls)
Henley outscored Cascade Christian 13-5 over the last 6:09 of the game to avoid an upset at the Hornets Nest.
The Hornets (14-2) took an 8-0 lead with 4:34 left in the first quarter, but the Challengers (10-4) went on a 12-2 run the rest of the period (aided by eight made free throws) to take a 12-10 lead into the second. Cascade Christian never trailed in the second quarter; although Henley scored six straight points to tie the game at 20-20 with just under two minutes left in the half, the Challengers went into the break ahead 25-24.
Trailing 28-26 with 6:41 to go in the third quarter, the Hornets put together a 12-0 run over the next 4:19 to take a 38-28 lead. Cascade Christian scored five points in the last 90 seconds to cut it to 38-33 entering the fourth and drew within 40-39 with 6:23 remaining in the game. A steal and layup by senior Anna Harper followed by a putback from the right block by junior Lily Fussell pushed the lead to 44-39 with 5:36 to go, but the Challengers answered with a three from senior Emma Coats to make it a two-point game 26 seconds later.
On the ensuing possession, Fussell leapt to keep a missed shot from going out of bounds on the baseline and put it directly into Harper’s hands for a layup that gave Henley a 46-42 lead. It would remain a multiple-possession game the rest of the way.
Despite Fussell–who leads the Hornets in steals and blocks–fouling out with 4:15 remaining, Cascade Christian did not score in the final 3:11.
Freshman Makayla Schroeder led Henley with 18 points (8 in the second quarter) and 18 rebounds, recording her 11th double-double of the season; sophomore Prestyn Schade had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists; Harper had 10 points and 5 rebounds; Fussell had 8 points (6 in the second half), 6 rebounds and 2 steals; junior Senia Campos had 4 points, 2 assists and 2 steals; junior Kennedi Modin had 2 points and 2 rebounds; and senior Bayli Ladner had 2 rebounds.
For the Challengers, senior Izzy McCauley had 16 points (6 in the first quarter), senior Jordynn Jones had 8 (all in the first half), senior Julia Brehm had 6, Coats and senior Angelica Arce both had 5, sophomore Morgan Samhammer had 3 and junior Grace McCauley had 1.
The Hornets did not make a 3-pointer, while Cascade Christian made five.
Henley resumes Skyline Conference play (where it sits 4-0) at Phoenix (10-5, 3-1) at 6 p.m. Friday. Cascade Christian resumes Southern Oregon Conference play (where it sits 2-0) at St. Mary’s Medford (5-7, 0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.
Bonanza 34, Butte Valley 26 (Girls)
Bonanza (9-7) wrapped up a three-game homestand with its third straight win and snapped Butte Valley’s (9-7) four-game winning streak.
Senior Vashti Arata led the Antlers with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals; senior Mary Schooler had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists; sophomore Abby Hill had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals; junior Maggie Ackley had 5 points; sophomore Ayla DeLonge had 3 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists; senior Grace Kness had 2 points, 7 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds; senior Haley Wierleske had 2 points; and sophomore Hadley Woods had 2 rebounds.
Bonanza shot 12-of-38 (32%) from the field, including 1-of-8 from 3-point range, and made 9-of-18 free throws.
The Antlers resume East Cascades Conference play (where it sits 2-1) at Lost River (10-4, 3-0) at 6 p.m. Friday. The Bulldogs resume Evergreen League play (where it sits 4-1) at Surprise Valley (3-9, 2-3) at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
1A No. 8 Crosspoint Christian 67, Tulelake 51 (Boys)
Crosspoint Christian (12-3) extended its winning streak to five and handed Tulelake (5-14) its third loss in four games.
The visiting Warriors led 9-8 after the first quarter, 28-23 at halftime and 50-38 after the third quarter.
Sophomore Caden Moritz led Crosspoint Christian with a season-high 27 points (on 12-of-20 shooting), 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists; senior Kody Sparks had 13 points (including three triples), 5 rebounds and 4 assists; junior Clayton Turnage had 8 points and 6 rebounds; junior Davis Hartwell had 8 points (all in the first half, including two threes), 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 blocks; junior Brock Throne had 6 points, 22 rebounds and 5 blocks; junior Collin Kleinjan had 5 points and 5 rebounds; and senior Paul Casson had 2 rebounds.
For the Honkers, sophomore Geo Alvarez had 18 points, juniors Rafael Hernandez and Cooper Hall both had 11 (including three triples for Hernandez), junior Jose Zaragoza had 6, sophomore Jason Orr had 3 and junior Miguel Alcala had 2.
Crosspoint Christian travels to Perrydale (3-13) at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Tulelake resumes Evergreen League play (where it sits 4-2) at home against Dunsmuir (3-10, 1-5) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Chiloquin 65, Harvest Christian 25 (Girls)
Chiloquin (8-6) didn’t allow first-year OSAA member Harvest Christian (0-1) to score until the second quarter en route to its third win in four games.
The host Queens led 12-0 after the first quarter, 34-12 at halftime and 48-18 after the third quarter.
Senior Elaine Gilchrist led Chiloquin with 14 points, junior Tahya Brown had 13, junior Dejah Head had 9, junior Mabel Avina-Parazoo had 8, senior Laila Perez had 5, seniors Ladyhawk Wright and To-le-us Ochoa and junior Makayla Jayne all had 4, and freshmen Katielynn Whitson and Adelia Masters both had 2.
For the Nighthawks, sophomore Lily Orndorff had 8 points, sophomores Taylor Barton and Taylor Read both had 6, freshman Yulisa Diaz had 3 and freshman Megan Del Rosa had 2.
Chiloquin hosts Glendale (5-9) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Harvest Christian travels to Rogue Valley Adventist Academy (8-3) at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 30.
Klamath Union 39, Mazama 28 (Girls)
Mazama’s (0-15, 0-5 Skyline Conference) closest game of the season ended in another loss at Valhalla Court.
Klamath Union (8-9, 3-2) senior Jazmin Wilson had 9 points, 6 steals, 3 assists and 2 blocks; sophomore Lisette Watah had 9 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals; junior Ariah Miller had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals; junior Bella Armijo had 6 points, 6 steals and 2 rebounds; senior Farrah Zumwalt had 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals; junior Caitlyn Fettinger had 2 points; senior Leah Segura had 1 point, 2 rebounds and 2 steals; senior Andi Harmon had 4 rebounds and 2 steals; and junior Anyssa Jimenez had 3 steals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
For the Vikings, senior London O’Brien had 11 points and senior Addie Byington had 9.
Mazama travels to 3A La Pine (1-12) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Klamath Union travels to No. 3 Henley (14-2, 4-0) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Chiloquin 77, Harvest Christian 52 (Boys)
Chiloquin (9-7) beat first-year OSAA member Harvest Christian (3-5) for the second time this season to extend its winning streak to three games.
The host Panthers led 20-14 after the first quarter, 42-32 at halftime and 60-38 after the third quarter.
Freshman Denver Bravo led Chiloquin with 26 points (11 in the second quarter), sophomore Dilen Black had 17 (7 in the third quarter), sophomore Lalan Wilder had 15, sophomore Edward Jones had 5, junior Danny Black and freshmen James Jayne and Justin Parrish all had 4, and senior Marques Hescock and junior Neo Avina-Parazoo both had 1.
For the Nighthawks, senior Ben White had 35 points, sophomore Talik Harris had 12 and senior Blaise Harris had 5.
Chiloquin hosts Glendale (6-9) at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Harvest Christian travels to Prospect Charter (7-7) at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Mazama 61, Klamath Union 36 (Boys)
Mazama (7-9, 4-1) remained tied for first place in the Skyline Conference with its biggest win over Klamath Union (5-12, 1-4) since a 20-point victory during the 2016-17 season.
Senior Kai Hunt led the host Vikings with 19 points, 7 steals, 5 assists and 3 rebounds; senior Gabe Nanni had 10 points, 5 steals, 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 blocks; senior Ryan Hayden had 10 points and 11 rebounds; junior Jagger Jackson had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists; junior Michael Piscitello had 7 points, 2 rebounds; senior Drake Peters had 3 points; senior Dominic Melgoza had 2 points and 3 steals; senior Deshawn Carter had 2 points and 2 rebounds; and senior Jordan Beals had 1 point.
For the Pelicans, senior Grafton Watah had 15 points and 3 rebounds; senior Roland Vannarath had 5 points and 5 rebounds; junior Tildon Coffman had 5 points; junior Landon Bogatay had 4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists; senior Bryce Petersen had 4 points and 2 rebounds; junior Jason Xu had 2 points and 2 rebounds; senior Isaac Rodriguez-Galan had 1 point; and senior Ryan Glidden had 3 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Mazama shot 23-of-65 (35%) from the field, including 3-of-17 (18%) from 3-point range, and made 12-of-17 free throws (71%). Klamath Union shot 12-of-42 (29%) from the field, including 4-of-18 (22%) from 3-point range, and made 8-of-14 free throws (57%). The Pelicans committed 23 turnovers to the Vikings’ 12.
Mazama travels to 3A La Pine (4-11) at 5 p.m. Saturday. Klamath Union travels to Henley (4-10, 0-4) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
