Beavers Drop Game at San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Oregon State men’s basketball team was defeated 81-70 by San Francisco Saturday evening at War Memorial Gymnasium at the Sobrato Center in San Francisco, Calif.

Michael Rataj went for 18 points and six rebounds, shooting 6-for-13 from the floor. Damarco Minor went 6-for-11 to end his night with 11 points and six rebounds.

Parsa Fallah had nine points before exiting the contest early in the second half due to injury. Liutauras Lelevicius knocked down five free throws to finish with eight points and six rebounds. Josiah Lake II had eight points.

As a team, Oregon State shot 44.4 percent from the floor.

The Beavers opened up an early lead, heading into the game’s first media timeout up 12-7, but San Francisco battled back to take a 19-16 lead nine minutes into the contest. The Dons were in front 36-29 at the under-four media break. San Francisco headed to the intermission up 43-34.

The Dons extended the advantage to 19 with 12 minutes remaining. The Beavers got within 11 with two minutes left, and continued to fight until the final horn but the Dons took the win by 11.

The Beavers will return home Thursday to face Pepperdine.
