CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech guard Keegan Shivers was named Cascade Conference Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
The senior, from Wilsonville, was instrumental in the Hustlin’ Owls road sweep in Portland – extending the squad’s win streak to 7-in-a-row – averaging 20.5 points and seven rebounds per game.
Shivers led Tech with 17 points and eight rebounds in Friday’s victory at Warner Pacific, while tying a season-high with 24 points and six boards at Multnomah – converting 6-straight free throws inside the final minute to ice the victory. In Friday’s win, he became the second player in program history to record 1,400 points, 700 rebounds and 275 assists in a career.
For the year, Shivers is averaging 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game – needing 15 made 3-pointers to become OIT’s all-time leader in the stat category.
The Hustlin’ Owls return home this weekend to open a 4-game homestand, starting Friday at 1 p.m. against Walla Walla.
