CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech guard Gabbie Gascon was named Cascade Conference Player of the Week, announced today by the league office.
The junior, from Jackson, Calif., was instrumental in the Lady Owls road wins at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho – the first time OIT has swept the road swing since 2016 and just the third sweep of the trip in program history.
Gascon had a career-night at EOU, finishing with a career-high 28 points, adding eight rebounds, four assists and four steals – making 4-of-8 3-point attempts and 10-of-14 chances from the foul line. One night later, the guard scored 14 points, tying a career-high with nine rebounds – converting 5-of-6 free throws inside the final three minutes to secure Tech’s win over C of I.
For the year, Gascon is averaging 13.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game.
The Lady Owls return to action on Saturday, hosting No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon at 5:30 p.m. for Military Appreciation Night, presented by Winema Electric. All current or retired military personnel, along with their families, will be admitted for free with a valid ID.
