Mavericks’ Luka Dončić to miss at least one week with wrist sprain

The Dallas Mavericks announced on Thursday that star Luka Dončić will miss at least one week with a right wrist sprain. Doncic will miss games against the Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks.

Per Shams Charania, Dončić will be reevaluated in a week. He was seen sporting a wrap on his wrist during his press conference following the team win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday; when asked about his wrist, Dončić said, “I don’t know, honestly. Started feeling it in the first quarter,” adding that it was “nothing serious.”

The Mavericks have an 8-7 record, putting them in 11th place in the Western Conference. Dončić has 28.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.6 assists this season, but is shooting just 43.5% from the field overall.  More recently, the five-time All-Star sat out during the Cavs 121-119 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Nov. 17 due to a right knee contusion.
