LaMalfa elected chairman of Congressional Western Caucus

Washington, D.C. — Today, the Congressional Western Caucus Executive Committee unanimously elected Executive Vice Chair Doug LaMalfa (CA-01) to serve as the Caucus’ Chairman for the 119th Congress. Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04) and Chairman-Elect LaMalfa released the following statements after the election.

“I want to offer my sincere congratulations to my good friend Doug LaMalfa on his election as Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus,” said Chairman Newhouse. “Doug is a true champion of the west, given his strong support for the multiple-use mandate for public lands, proactive management of our forests, American agriculture and domestic energy production. It has been an honor to serve as Chairman of the Western Caucus for the last four years, and I am excited for the Caucus’ future under its new leadership.”

Doug LaMalfa is a fourth-generation rice farmer and business owner who has lived in Northern California all his life. He earned his degree in Ag/Business from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Doug was elected to the California State Assembly and State Senate before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012.
