CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Lucy Boyd was honored today as the 2024 Cascade Conference Freshman of the Year, as the annual all-league awards were announced by the league office.
In addition, Boyd was one of three Lady Owls selected to All-CCC teams ahead of Friday’s quarterfinal match-up vs. Southern Oregon.
Boyd, who was named an honorable mention All-CCC pick, leads the league in assists per set (7.44) and total assists (789), while ranking among the Top-10 in aces (38) and aces per set (0.36).
Senior Molly Grace earns first-team All-CCC honors for a second-straight year. The outside hitter ranks among the CCC’s Top-5 in kills (336), kills per set (3.36), aces (50) and aces per set (0.46) – having surpassed the 1,000-kill mark two weeks ago.
Junior Kaley Whalen earned second-team All-CCC honors for the second year in a row. Tech’s libero leads the league in both digs (588) and digs per set (5.39) – setting a new single-season OIT record for digs in a year.
The Lady Owls return to the court in La Grande on Friday afternoon, meeting Southern Oregon at 12:30 p.m.
