CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech claimed two of the three Cascade Conference Volleyball Player of the Week awards, announced by the league information office.
Lucy Boyd was named CCC Setter of the Week and Kaley Whalen was named CCC Defender of the Week.
Boyd earns the honor for the second time in three weeks and the third time this season. The freshman posted the first 20-20 game in two decades on Saturday at Evergreen, recording career-highs with 49 assists and 20 digs. The CCC’s leader in assists added 37 assists and seven digs last Friday at Northwest.
Whalen earns her second Defender of the Week honor after a record-setting weekend. The junior became the first Tech player to record consecutive 30-dig matches, recording 30 digs vs. Northwest and a school-record 45 digs at Evergreen State.
OIT opens play Tuesday in the first-round of the CCC Championships, traveling to Lewis-Clark State for a 6 p.m. matchup.
