KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A viewing of the comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS will be sponsored by the Klamath County Museum at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14.
The viewing will be held in the parking lot of Foothills Christian Fellowship, located at the north end of Patterson Street.
“The comet put on quite a show on Sunday evening,” said museum director Todd Kepple. “It will hopefully be visible for several days, but the weather is expected to turn later this week, so we’re hoping to get a nice view on Monday before clouds move in.”
The comet is visible to the naked eye from any spot with a good view of the western horizon, but binoculars are recommended for better viewing.
Amateur astronomers will be on hand with telescopes Monday for the museum-sponsored event, which is free and open to anyone interested.
