WILSONVILLE, Ore – Mazama senior running back Kristopher Baldwin was awarded the Klamath Falls Toyota Athlete of the Week award for his efforts in the Vikings Canal Bowl win on September 5th.
Baldwin led the rushing attack for Mazama, earning their 11th consecutive Canal Bowl win over Klamath Union 55-24. The senior carried the ball 18 times for 371 yards and four touchdowns including an 81-yard scoring play in the third quarter.
“I’m able to read the defense a little bit [with the new offense],” Baldwin said of his performance. “I just saw holes open up and I just started running that way…the linemen were getting blocks, so I was able to get a couple long runs because of them.”

The Vikings are currently #9 in the 4A coaches poll. Mazama is back in action on September 13th at Mountain View. The Cougars are ranked 4th in the latest 5A coaches poll. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
