KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech softball coach Greg Stewart has announced the signing of All-America catcher Sawyer Stenson to a Cascade Conference Letter of Intent for the 2025 season.

The junior transfer, from Lower Columbia Community College, had a dominant sophomore season, hitting .444 with 24 home runs and 80 RBI, earning NWAC All-America and NFCA Catcher of the Year accolades.

“We are very happy to sign a player of Sawyer’s caliber for our team in 2025,” Stewart said. “She is a proven hitter with legitimate power and has been an excellent catcher – and can play as a corner infielder. Sawyer has the experience and potential to be a key middle of the lineup and RBI contributor for our program.”

Originally from Pasco, Wash., Stenson helped Chiawana High win the 4A slowpitch softball state title in 2022, earning All-Mid Columbia Conference Player of the Year honors.  While at Lower Columbia, Stenson was a 2-time All-NWAC South Division selection and a NFCA Scholar-Athlete.

“I am thrilled that Sawyer chose Oregon Tech to pursue her academics and I am really looking forward to the numbers she will put up the next two seasons,” Stewart said.

The daughter of Brent and Courtney Stenson will major in health care administration at Tech.
