Since the thunderstorm, 54 smoke checks have been called in, smoke checks are in progress. Ten confirmed lightning-caused fires:
Trail Fire – Just east of Diamond Lake. Trail Fire is estimated at 200 acres. Multiple crews and engines assigned to this incident. Additional tanker in route today. Aircraft resources are being shared between Lemolo and Trail Fires. Evacuations for the Trail Fire can be found on the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Diamond Lake Campground is closed starting today, July 18, 2024, through Sunday, July 21, 2024. We will reevaluate on Sunday. Reservation cancellation emails, including refund information have been sent via Recreation.gov.
Lemolo Fire – Estimated 15 Acres. Two engines and crew on site. Aircraft resources are being shared between Lemolo and Trail Fires. Evacuation information can be found on the
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
Jack Saddle Fire – Estimated 5 acres. About 14 miles northeast of Idleyld Park. In addition to a Forest Service Engine, Douglas Forest Protective Agency (DFPA) resources. DFPA is now in joint command with the Umpqua National Forest on continued suppression efforts on this fire. 30 to 40% contained, hoselay around 30%.
Lost Bucket – Estimated 3 to 5 acres near Jack Saddle Fire. DFPA Resources.
Donegan Fire – Estimated .25 of an acre, 100% lined. 100% contained.
White Creek Fire – Estimated .5 acres, handline complete. 100% contained.
Cultus Fire – Estimated 1.5 acres. 2 handcrew squads, 2 engines, one water tender, Fire is lined. 40% contained.
Slide Fire – Estimated .5 acre. 100% lined. Line held overnight.
Puddin Fire – Estimated .8 acres. Completed handline, 100% contained.
Tucker Fire – Estimated .5 acres, Resources: 2 engines, one water tender, two handcrew squads on site, handline held through the night, 50% contained.
