Three Basin high school coaches and one athlete received honors at the 2024 Oregon Athletic Coaches Association Awards Banquet May 18.
Lost River football, basketball and baseball player Connor Dunlea was one of eight OACA Student/Athlete Scholarship Award winners, receiving $1,000. The Raiders went 11-0 this season, completing their first undefeated campaign since 2004. Dunlea was also recognized by the National Federation of State High School Associations as the NFHS Section 8 8-Player Football Coach of the Year.
Former Henley football head coach Alex Stork was named the 4A Football Coach of the Year after leading the Hornets to their first state championship since 1982 and the only 13-0 season in program history.
Henley girls basketball head coach Randy Denson was named the 4A Girls Basketball Coach of the Year after leading the Hornets to their first state championship since 2012 and a 24-2 record, the second-most wins in the program’s recorded history.
