KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Zoe Allen had a career day, combining to go 6-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and three RBI, helping Oregon Tech run their win streak to 18 with 7-0 and 8-0 victories over Simpson University at Stilwell Stadium.

Four Lady Owls (26-6) combined to hold the Redhawks to four total hits on the day, improving their home record in 2024 to 13-0.

“It was really good to see our pitching staff throw so well,” said OIT head coach Greg Stewart. “We played solid defense and made good adjustments at the plate to hit the ball hard and put pressure on their defense.”

Allen and Kaila Mick provided the spark in Game 1. Leading 3-0 in the fourth, Allen gapped an RBI triple to left and Mick followed with an RBI double to extend the lead. In the sixth, the duo flipped roles, as Allen blooped an RBI double into left and Mick tripled off the wall in right-center to push the margin to 7-0.

Kacie Schmidt earned her ninth-straight win, allowing two hits in four innings, while Mckenzie Staub retired all nine batters she faced to earn her first save of 2024. Mick was 4-for-4 – her third 4-hit game of the year – with Allen going 3-for-3.

Earning her first start of the year, freshman Alli Parker dominated the Redhawks (8-19) in Game 2, holding the California team to two singles, striking out three in four strong innings.

Tech took advantage of two passed balls in the first to plate an unearned run, while an Allen RBI single in the second gave the hosts a 3-0 lead. Puakea Milbourne hit her team-leading ninth home run of the season on the first pitch of the fourth to make it 4-0, while the Owls won the game in the fifth – as a Marla Goodspeed 2-run single was followed by a game-ending RBI double from Nita Cook.

Allen finished the nightcap 3-for-3 – with eight of the nine batters in the Lady Owls order recording a hit.

OIT hits the road this weekend, traveling to Canada for a key Cascade Conference series at British Columbia.
