KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Klamath Music announced the date and lineup for the 2024 Klamath Music Festival Tuesday.
The festival, which was previously called the Klamath Folk Festival, will be held at the Ross Ragland Theater from 2-9 p.m. August 24. Klamath Music Executive Director Nick Depew said the organization changed the name “to better represent our local artist community.”
“We have a lot of musicians that are a part of our family that…don’t necessarily identify with the term ‘folk’, but we’re still representing them,” Depew said.
Platinum-selling alternative rock/pop band The Verve Pipe will be this year’s headliner. Other featured artists include Michal Palzewicz Trio (the house band for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival), Leadbetter Band (a rock group based in Bend) and Kalan Wolfe & The Shift (whose songs fuse multiple genres, including folk, rock, reggae and hip-hop).
The wide range of genres offered at this year’s festival is somewhat of a departure from previous editions–one Depew said was intentional.
“We’re trying to grow a little bit…We feel it’s a good opportunity to reach more people,” Depew said. “We’re not going too extreme by any means…it’s not going to be anything crazy enough to scare everyone off.”
