CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the second time this season, Oregon Tech’s Tyler Horner was named Cascade Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
The junior, from Twin Falls, Idaho, had a monster weekend as the Hustlin’ Owls split a 4-game series vs. No. 8-ranked Lewis-Clark State.
Horner finished 11-for-15 at the plate, with four doubles, his league-leading 11th home run of the season and five RBI. In Saturday’s doubleheader, Horner reached base in all 10 plate appearances – improving his season batting average to .402.
Tech has the weekend off, returning to the diamond next Tuesday in Redding, Calif., against Simpson University.
