KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oregon Tech point-guard Jamison Guerra was named today to the NAIA Men’s Basketball All-America Team as a third-team selection, announced by the national office.
The junior, from Sherwood, led the Hustlin’ Owls to a 27-6 record and a trip to the second-round of the NAIA National Tournament. He becomes the 11th Hustlin’ Owl player to be selected either a first-team, second-team or third-team All-American.
Guerra set career-highs, averaging 12.1 points and 6.9 assists per game – leading all NAIA players with 227 total assists – becoming the seventh OIT player to record 200-or-more assists in a season. He led the team with six double-doubles, while recording a career-best 14 assists at Evergreen. His 3-point play inside the final five seconds helped Tech top Bushnell in the Cascade Conference quarterfinals, while his last-second lay-up broke a tie in a road CCC semifinal win over Lewis-Clark State.
Heading into his senior season, Guerra has scored 1,001 career points and added 480 career assists.
