Klamath Falls Seeks to Quiet Train Traffic

Klamath Falls, ORE–  Anyone who has ever tried to get a good night’s sleep in Klamath Falls knows the sound of train whistles.

Residents near Crater Lake Parkway have complained to city officials for more than two decades about the disturbance.

The agenda for the city council meeting set for tonight includes a vote on whether to enter a “public highway at-grade crossing agreement” with Union Pacific Railroad.

According to the agenda, “Once the city and railroad’s work is completed, the city can file a notice of execution which, after 30 days of the filing, should establish the quiet zone.”
