Ninth Kidnapping Case in Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, ORE– The ninth arrest since January of 2023 in a case involving a kidnapping happened on Thursday.

Robert John Tobol, 44, was arrested after allegedly kidnapping a woman he lived with at knifepoint.

On Jan. 24, Tobol allegedly put a knife to the victim’s back, forced her into his vehicle, and drove to his residence.

The next day, Tobol allegedly punched and scratched the victim in the head and face and proceeded to strangle her with his two hands. Tobol then allegedly strangled the victim with a blue sweatshirt he allegedly wrapped around her neck, forcing her onto a bed.

Tobol’s arrest marks the ninth alleged kidnapping charge in Klamath Falls since January 2023 according to Klamath Falls Police Chief Rob Detinger. 

Eight of the nine arrests for kidnapping came from cases involving domestic violence.
