Falcons Falls To Fairfield

Falcons-Baseball

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A frigid day at Kiger Stadium saw the Fairfield Expos take advantage of 13 Klamath Falls walks in a 20-5 run-rule victory over the Falcons in a non-league American Legion Baseball contest.

Blake Bozzini finished 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI – staking the Expos (22-9-1) to a 4-0 first inning lead with a RBI 2-bagger.

The Falcons (2-5) responded in the bottom of the frame, scoring a run on a Mark Carpenter fielders choice, followed by a long 2-run homer from Tyler Harper.

The California side took over from their batting around for six second inning runs – and never looked back.

Connor Broschard was 2-for-3 with four RBI and Calvin Johnson posted three hits and four RBI, as the Expos avenged a Saturday loss to Klamath.

KFalls returns to action tomorrow night, hosting Medford in an Area 4 doubleheader at 5 p.m.

NOTES – Aiden Hayes has reached safely in all seven games this season, while P.J. Safford extended his hit streak to a team-high three games…the 13 hits surrendered by the Falcons equaled a season high…the game was originally scheduled for nine innings, but ended due to the mercy rule.
