Oregon Tech signs North Medford Standout Miles to LOI

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech softball coach Greg Stewart has announced the signing of Samara Miles to a Cascade Conference Letter of Intent for the 2024 season.

Miles, a senior at North Medford High, has had a stellar prep career and has been a standout for the Black Tornado Club Program. She is the niece of legendary OIT basketball and softball coach, Danny Miles.

“Samara will be a fantastic addition to our program next season,” Stewart said. “She is a talented hitter with power to all fields and has been one of the best offensive players in the region throughout her high school career. Samara is a good outfielder who will give us another lefty stick in our line-up in the future as well as another outstanding student-athlete at Oregon Tech over the next four years.”

As a junior, Miles hit .459 with 29 runs scored, while posting a .553 on-base percentage – earning All-Southwest Conference and 6A All-State honors – helping the Black Tornado to the second-round of the state tournament. As a sophomore, earned All-Southwest Conference honors, leading NMHS to the league title.

The daughter of Mike Miles and Flora Garcia looks to major in mechanical engineering at OIT.
