ALTURAS, Calif. — The Modoc National Forest will reopen on Sept. 19, 2020. Forest users can again recreate and camp in developed and dispersed areas, but it is still unsafe to burn campfires anywhere on the forest.
Though all other potential ignition sources are restricted including campfires at all locations, liquid-fueled camp stoves can be used under Forest Order 09-20-03.
Please do everything within your power to avoid starting another wildfire. Resources are already spread very thin.
