OKLAHOMA, OK. – Senior Kylie Collom shot a career low 73 to help lead the Oregon Tech women’s golf team to a school best 10th place finish in the Final Round at the NAIA Women’s National Golf Tournament at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Head Coach Jeff Corkill commented, “Congratulations to our conference foe UBC as I said all year they are among the elite in the NAIA. As for our team they competed with the nation’s best. If it wasn’t for our second round, we would have been right in the thick of the battle. All in all, I am very proud of what the ladies have accomplished this year. It was nice to see Kylie go out with her best round of her career.”
Tech’s final round 296 moved them up from 11th to 10th on Friday as they finished with a four round total of 1210; they finished 35-strokes behind fellow CCC member British Columbia who won the national tournament with a total of 1175.
Payton Canon had the best day for the Owls for the second day in a row. She finished with a one-under par 71 as she moved up 11 spots to finish tied for 18th.
Stephanie Koza finished tied for 23rd with a final round 74, followed by Aerin Song (78) tied for 57th Ashley Zhu had an 83 to finish in a tie for 88th while Collom jumped all the way up from 82 to 68th for the Owls.
