EAGLE POINT, Ore. –  The No. 12 ranked Lady Owls and No.18 ranked Hustlin’ Owls dominated the Oregon Tech Spring Invite at Eagle Point G.C. Saturday and Sunday with the women finishing first through fourth in the individual standings and winning the team standings by 58-strokes while the OIT men had four of the top five individual finishers as they won the men’s title by 27-strokes.

“It was nice to be able to come out of the indoor hitting area and win our tournament,” said Head Coach Jeff Corkill. “Not the easiest thing to lean on but, proves we are able to have no real course time and are able to compete at a level that allows us to do so.”

Ashley Zhu (151) took medalist honors for the Owls by two strokes over teammate Payton Canon (153) with Tech’s Kylie Collom (156) third and Stephanie Koza (162) fourth.

On the men’s side, Alejandro Armijo (220) of OIT took home medalist honors just beating out Christian Ingul (222) of Menlo. Tech’s Tyler Frankie (224) was third with Cameron Barnhardtand Brandon Erickson of the Owls finishing tied for fourth with a 226 three-round total.

The OIT men won the three-round tournament with a combined total of 894, 27-strokes in front of Menlo College (921) followed by Northwest Christian 2 (944).

The OIT men and women will next head to the Corban California Invite in Indio, California on March 24 & 25.
